| Many
people turn to hypnotherapy to help give up smoking because
everything else they have tried has failed. It is therefore testimony
to the effectiveness of hypnotherapy that they are then able to
succeed. It is not therefore surprising that New Scientist states
that ‘Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking’
(‘Cognitive reactions to smoking relapse’, Vol 135)
or a recent article in Women‘s Weekly recommends Hypnotherapy
stating that “Research has shown that this can be five times
more effective than nicotine replacement”, they also recommended
the NCH website as the place to find a therapist, you need look
no further!
We
are all aware of the effects smoking has on our health; for more

So
why can it be so hard to give up? As most people consciously want
to give up it is not hard to work out that it is the subconscious
that promotes the need to smoke. For those who struggle to give
up the battle between the conscious and subconscious mind is weighted
in favour of the subconscious.
